Interview with BBC Out of Doors

news image

Project Officer Karen met with Rachel Stewart from BBC Out of Doors last week to discuss all things giant hogweed - impacts on biodiversity, human health impacts and how sheep can be used to tackle infestations.

Rachel joined Karen at our trial site near Macduff in Aberdeenshire, where we have been running a grazing trial since 2019. They spoke about how we aim to avoid or limit overgrazing in order to conserve the ecological value of the site and how the sheep learn to graze giant hogweed - even learning how to knock over large stems to reach the leaves!

The episode aired on Saturday morning (12th Nov) but you can tune in online via BBC Sounds to listen.
