We were delighted to welcome Mairi Gougeon, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and Islands, on her visit to the River Deveron in August. Ms Gougeon visited the Deveron, Bogie & Isla Rivers Charitable Trust and spoke with them about their collaborative projects.

Project Officer Karen met the Minister on her visit and highlighted the importance of tackling invasive species in order to protect and restore biodiversity in Scotland. We “treated” Ms Gougeon to a morning of torrential rain with the Scottish Invasive Species Initiative in Tayside in 2019 so it was fantastic to get the chance to catch up with her on our progress since then – in the dry!
